KATIE FRIEL

Katie Friel is a writer and editor specializing in architecture, arts, cuisine, travel and cultural coverage. In addition to journalism, Katie works with brands she believes in to craft an editorial voice unique to their mission.

Katie received a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Catholic University. In 2011, she was selected to be a Carnegie Knight/News21 journalism fellow.

Katie has studied photography in France, worked in branding in New York City, spent two years making snow cones in an Austin food truck, and has driven her old Ford Ranger across the country more than once. She loves biking, reading, baseball, crosswords, and being an Austin Pets Alive! foster.
